Our history
2013
Our dementia services were first launched under the name Greengage. Our initial aim was to engage people with dementia through gardening, enabling individuals to become involved in a new hobby and make friends through local allotment communities.
2015
We expanded our dementia programme to residential homes, inviting their communities to take part in positive activities to help manage the symptoms of dementia. Our NPI (non-pharmaceutical intervention) services became recognised as an affordable and highly beneficial way to support people living with dementia.
2018
Having secured funding from the National Lottery, we launched DIAL in Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan: a project designed to improve the lives of people living with dementia by engaging them in activities centred around their personal interests.
2022
Our ‘Not Forgotten’ event took place in Cardiff: an exhibition of short films and other creative works made in partnership with local people living with dementia. As well as giving individuals with dementia a chance to be heard, the event raised awareness of dementia-related conditions and the effect they have on people’s lives.
